Rumors have been heard for a while Beretta project for the realization of a hunting carbine, I have personally followed the entire evolution of the project, since the first tests, now a few years ago, with several prototypes that have undergone a radical evolution and transformation. These were followed by various focus groups, with industry journalists and with Beretta representatives in different countries of the world, in order to arrive at the definitive rifle.
He finally sees the light there Beretta BRX1 air rifle, starting from the consolidated experience in the world of both precision and burst military weapons, the choice fell on a linear loading weapon (streight pull), with a rotating head.

The splendid Gardone Riviera on Lake Garda was chosen for the presentation to the press, where the President of the Arms Factory Franco Gussalli Beretta and his son Carlo, in charge of digital development, were chosen, and precisely, with an unforgettable event, the Vittoriale di D'Annunzio, the place where the Beretta logo with the three arrows and the motto comes from Give In Pitcher.

The following day we went to the Cieli Aperti shooting range in Bergamo, where there were a good number of .308, 30-06 and 300 Win Mag rifles, for the occasion the BRX1 were tested on the 100 shooting lines. , 200 and 300 meters as well as the current wild boar, an occasion in which we had the opportunity to test both the accuracy and the speed of rearmament.
The rifle has a sleek yet modern line. In this first version it has a black polymer stock with separate stock and fore-end, a more accentuated anti-slip finish on the pistol grip and in the lower part of the shaft for maximum stability even in the rain, and there will also be the possibility of replacing the pistol. with a design perpendicular to the rifle axis. The stock length can be adjusted, with optional pads and spacers between 350 and 390 mm. The black opaque casing is made of light anodized aluminum alloy on the surface and the sliding bolt and the barrel fixing system are housed inside.

The bolt operates linearly with the throttle perpendicular to the trigger for maximum comfort when reloading, the rotating head with 8 wings (16 in the magnum calibers) guarantees perfect closure and has passed the most demanding tightness tests equivalent to those required. by NATO standards. A very interesting peculiarity is the ease of transformation into left-handed both as a puller and as ejection of the cartridge case, an operation that takes less than 1 minute.

The trigger group is of the type with the hammer and direct trigger, adjustable on three different weights of about 950, 1.250 and 1.500 grams, a simple operation to be carried out using a button positioned on the left side of the group itself, all allowing its use both for selection hunting and for driven hunting.

The safety is of the push-button type positioned on the back of the bolt and easily operated with the thumb, there are three positions, all back locks release and bolt opening, intermediate locks release but allows the bolt to open, forward the rifle fires and charging.

The barrels are in matt black steel, full floating, made entirely by roto-hammering including the combustion chamber, which guarantees perfect alignment between chamber and rifling. The barrels are housed in the stock by means of a “V” cradle and locked by two screws, which allows for easy replacement in the event of a caliber change. All barrels are threaded with M14 thread for the assembly of the muzzle brake and in countries where permitted, the silencer.

The rifling pitch for .30 calibers, currently available, is 1/11. The length is 570 or 510 mm for the standard calibers (.308 Win and 30.06), 620 mm for the 300 Win Mag. For the assembly of the aiming systems, the barrels are equipped with a Picatinny rail, while the barrels with front sight will be equipped with a quick coupler, however available as an option for all barrels. The Tikka type sled is also optional.
As you can see in the photographs, we also tried it hunting and always with excellent results and arousing the compliments of who used it for the first time.

Overall a very performing, fast, resistant and versatile rifle that will surely find the appreciation of Italian hunters, also in relation to the price of the list to the public, which in the launch phase is € 1.549,00!
