burri when in 2006 he presented the first ballistic scope of the Eliminator series, opened the way to the creation of riflescopes with rangefinders and integrated electronics. After 18 years and 6 versions of the riflescope, with theEliminator 6 has reached a technological level that ensures previously unimaginable precision. The Burris Eliminator 6 It features the lines of a normal riflescope, a 34 mm tube, a 52 mm exit lens and magnifications from 4x to 20x, parallax adjustment on the right turret.
But, the heart of this new optic is inside, by pressing a button located on the left turret, it measures the distance, a good 1.800 meters on reflective surfaces and 1.400 meters on non-reflective surfaces, such as the skin of a game animal. Just measure and the reticle will immediately light up the point where to aim with a 1/5 Moa difference. A remote control is also supplied with the riflescope to perform telemetry without using the button on the optic.
Eliminator 6 It integrates a barometer, thermometer and inclinometer as well as calculating the angle of site, which allows the internal software to calculate all these parameters so as to correct the ballistic curve of our ammunition in any environmental condition we find ourselves in.
As is now standard practice, the scope connects via Bluetooth to the mobile app “BurrisConnect”, from here you will enter all the ballistic data during the calibration phase, whether we use commercial cartridges, of which we have a large and complete table already stored in the app, or reloaded ammunition by entering the parameters manually.
We had the opportunity to try it out during the European presentation at the ASD Tiro Sportivo Terranova Bracciolini long-distance shooting range in the province of Arezzo. telescope It was mounted on several rifles of the Beretta group, Sako TRG and S20, Beretta BRX1, Tikka UPR and T3x Tac A1, Benelli Lupo and Lupo HPR, Franchi Horizon, all in 6,5 Creedmoor caliber.
With all of us we appreciated the speed of the change of distance by shooting at gongs positioned at 200, 310, 420 and 550 meters, thanks to the extreme precision of the weapon-scope system both us and the gunsmiths present always hit the target. The whole thing ended with a challenge between the gunsmiths present, the first three were given the “Kings Of Ballistics” plates and Burris Optics.
