Il Council of State he was very clear in his latest decision. The zoophile guards they don't have any power in hunting matters, therefore they cannot supervise the activity of the hunters, their only task consists in protect pets. This sentence refers to the appeal that had proposed the League for the Abolition of the Hunt (LAC) against an order of the Regional Administrative Court of Piedmont. According to the judges, in fact, these subjects cannot be considered as public security agents, consequently autonomous supervision is not part of their competences.
For checks, even in the context of hunting, they will have to make use of the presence of real agents and with judicial police powers. In addition to the LAC, also the LAV (Anti-Vivisection League) had opposed the order of the TAR. Some time ago, in fact, the Prefect of Turin had established that their vigilance was limited, inducing animal welfare associations to appeal. The same Council of State rejected the appeal, compensating in full the judicial costs due to the partial novelty of these topics.
I kindly ask the journalist if he can provide the number of the sentence, so that he can find it on the website of the council of state, print it and attach it to the large documentary file that we take to the countryside.
