Rome, May 12 – “The world of hunting is alive and active. The large participation in the 'Caccia Village' trade fair in Bastia Umbra is proof of this. The common voice that has been raised in recent days by the hunters who participated is unequivocal and is aimed at requesting the necessary modification of law 157”. This was stated by the head of the Department of Wildlife Management and Hunting Activities of the League, Hon. Francesco Bruzzone, regarding the necessary modification of law 157, speaking at the large event in the province of Perugia.
"This is certainly not new," explained the Ligurian MP of the League, "I have personally intervened several times, both with legislative proposals in the Parliamentary Commission and with other initiatives, to highlight the need for a major reform of a law that now needs to be adapted to the times. I note with satisfaction the public statements made by the Minister of Agriculture Francesco Lollobrigida who has committed to completing the changes to law 157 by next August. This means that the related bill will have to be examined by the Council of Ministers and then submitted to Parliament (Chamber and Senate).
Without going into the merits of the contents, which are now known to all, I will only refer to the need to resolve the problem of mountain passes that must be addressed and closed as soon as possible, given the impossibility of accepting what comes from Lombardy. I will give maximum collaboration, maximum support and above all maximum contribution in terms of suggestions and proposals in the context of parliamentary work, which I hope will begin their process as soon as possible.
On the other hand, it is evident, given the national political framework, that only the centre-right coalition can resolve the needs related to correct wildlife management and to guarantee a fair system for hunting, considering that the opposition now clearly has a contrary position from more or less all the parties. Now more than ever we cannot give up”.
This was stated by Ligurian MP Francesco Bruzzone, head of the League's Department of Wildlife Management and Hunting Activities.
