Il Piedmont hunting calendar 2016-2017 has just come out and is already discussing. In particular, the regional section of the Italian Federation of Hunting he wanted to express some considerations on the matter, with many doubts and perplexities. According to Federcaccia Piemonte, the Region has shown that it is not available, even in the slightest, to accept requests and requests proposals from the world of hunting, although there have been several in recent weeks.
The ban imposed on species like the ptarmigan, the variable hare and the lark it was defined as an "absurd and unmotivated measure". In addition, the dates chosen for the start and closure of the hunt are such as to make Piedmontese hunters the most penalized in our country. The example cited by Federcaccia on the oddities of 2016-2017 calendar is that of the quail hunt, destined to open on October 2nd: well, this is the period in which these birds are already on their way to the African continent.
For this reason, the regional section suspects a mockery, without going further in investigating. The official statement ends with a fact: Piedmontese hunters are absolutely not willing to accept passively "This disgrace of the calendar", then we will take action, exploiting all the tools made available by Italian law. What else does the Piedmontese calendar foresee?
From 25 September to 7 December they can be hunted the common hare, the minilepre and the wild rabbit, while from 2 October to 30 November the list includes red partridge and gray partridge, based on the sampling plans prepared by the management committees of the Territorial Hunting Areas. In addition to the quail, the animal on which the Federcaccia Piemonte controversy has focused, 2 October represents the starting date for the sampling of the turtledove (until 31 October to be precise). Finally, it was decided that in the lower valley districts and which do not include chamois wintering areas, hunting will be allowed until next December 31st.
