A woman lost her life last night in a car accident in Villanova Mondovì. She was in the car with her husband and children, she collided with a wild boar. The woman was called Marisa Verdirose, she was 55 years old. The animal suddenly appeared on the side of the road, the car went off the road in an attempt to avoid it. It happened yesterday around 22 pm, in via Boves, where the carabinieri are investigating. The Mondovì firefighters and Morozzo volunteers had to intervene to extract the injured from the car. The woman's husband, who was driving, was injured seriously: was transported to the hospital and the couple's children with him.
The woman, on the other hand, died instantly. Maris Verdirose was well known in the area, she worked as a saleswoman at the Mercatò. There wild boar issue, in the Cuneo area, but also in the rest of Piedmont, it has often been raised by trade associations and local administrators but also by regional councilors. The regional councilor Marcus Protopapa, urging the government, he had spoken of unsafe roads due to the excessive presence of wild boars, asking for exceptions to hunting. Today the issue should be discussed in Rome at the Conference of Presidents (La Repubblica).
