Ungulates in the green area
Tomorrow Thursday 20 July, from 13.30 pm until the end of operations presumably in the evening, the Biodiversity Park of Catanzaro to allow for the necessary removal of a group of about thirty wild boars reported within the green area. The mayor Nicola Fiorita ordered it with a contingent and urgent ordinance, having heard the provincial administration for the shortest possible steps, specifying that the operations will be carried out in the areas bordering the Park, precisely the Fiumarella stream and the Sant'Elena locality.
Public health and safety
For the occasion, the selectors already authorized and appointed by the Calabria Region have been appointed, with the support of the police, having regard to the priority need to guarantee public health and safety. The mayor's provision also orders a ban on anyone from supplying food and food waste to wild ungulates.
The characteristics of the park
The Mediterranean Biodiversity Park, also known as the "Parco della Scuola Agraria", has a total area of over 600 square metres. Inside there are a botanical garden, a military historical museum, a skating area, a pond with aquatic plants, a theater and a green labyrinth.
