An excellent starting point for background and management reflections on cynology of tomorrow. Also this year the appointment dedicated to the dog lover of excellence was renewed on the weekend of 28/29 August CCT, at the federal zone of Collacchioni in Pieve Santo Stefano, Arezzo. The Trophy of Champions, the Enci test now in its third edition, is confirmed again this year as one of the recognized flagship tests of all the Tuscan dog lovers, today with an excellent sponsor such as the CANICOM, a leading company in Italy and beyond, which has characterized the added value of this year for the flagship dog show of the Confederation. An area, that of the Collacchioni, which certainly needs no introduction.
Its more unique than rare characteristics in Tuscany, where the skilful work of environmental wildlife management related to the unique case by vocation of these beautiful territories, have led to the presence of indigenous populations of gray partridge really consistent, which make it a real paradise for dog lovers. The practical example that good management brings results, and that where rurality and biodiversity still manage to prevail over agricultural industrialization, the conditions are determined by which species such as the Italian partridge, almost completely disappeared from our territories, they manage to thrive.
If there were the tools to replicate even only partially what is done here daily in order to safeguard the noble sedentary game, even in the numerous public and private structures of the ATC Tuscany, it would probably be possible to obtain, in many situations, remarkable results also for the hare and pheasant species. The working tests for all hunting breeds need two basic requirements: the quality of the land and structures and above all the real game. In Tuscany and even more at a national level, the need to create suitable structures for this purpose arises today more than in the past. This is to maintain a high level of selection of hunting breeds.
Even the ENCI in its capacity as a delegated body for this purpose, will have to do its part by contributing to the creation and management of canine facilities and wildlife institutes, guaranteeing resources and adequate investments. Bringing back to Italy many of the canine activities that take place in other European countries can represent an opportunity for economic development in rural areas and for the enhancement of environments. The concrete possibility of achieving all this now lies ahead with the work that will lead to the drafting of the new Regional Hunting Wildlife Plan, which will also necessarily have to see participating hunters with authoritative and strong proposals, which are based on solid scientific foundations, and frame in close collaboration with the agricultural world, the hunting activity nowadays, including dog lovers.
A strong message underlies these two beautiful days of rehearsal, carried out in a cordial atmosphere in the awareness on the part of the conductors of having to deal with their auxiliaries with real animals. Numerous competitors have come from all over Italy to compete in this prestigious event. The meteorological conditions also characterized by heavy rainfall during the performance of the test over the two days, made the competition even tougher for dressers and their auxiliaries. Despite this, the subjects competing on both days, divided into the categories English, Continental, Springer Spaniel and Cocker Spaniel, have shown their skills and the training work put in place by their conductors, managing to find true and elusive wild. Even the expert Enci Judges Riccardo Acerbi, Carretti Marco, Aquino Florindo, Leonardo Borselli and Massimo Cambi, had to face difficult conditions especially on Saturday, where the rain and the strong wind, they made their job even more difficult to do.
The Passion for dog lovers, a prerogative that distinguished all those present at the two days; from the organizers of the CCT coordinated by the irreplaceable Luca Giusti, to the "landlord" Domenico Coradeschi, from the ENCI delegate Mr. Andreini, to the companions and staff who allowed everything to go smoothly with a precise logistical coordination, even to the judges and to all competitors who took part in the test. The emblem that dog lovers "is hunting", and that that of the sports hunting canine sector can become a real driving force both for the hunting world and for the related environmental wildlife management. Dedicated projects, such as that of the “life” on the Italian partridge that characterizes the federal area of the Collacchioni, they can serve as an example to concretely relaunch noble sedentary game in our country.
However, as in this specific case, a strong planning and a strong voice are needed to demonstrate the reasons for hunting and good management. This, as in many other aspects that characterize issues related to the hunting world, from the approval of calendars to the battles for times and species, is only possible if the "voice" of our world is one, strong in proposals based on scientific basis, and not on reminiscences of an "old" way that no longer exists. Days like these, spent in places like these, made of dog love, friendship and passion, show us that all this is still possible, and indeed a lot depends on us dog hunters both for environmental management and for the future of our passion. you just need to make the right choices.
For our part and all the exponents of the CCT, this desire for change has been openly declared for some time now, which constitutes the only prospect for the Italian hunting world, we sincerely hope that our regional reality can act as a springboard for something broader, for a vital renewal that relaunches hunting and dog lovers as real added values of the hectic life of this millennium. In this extraordinary context, therefore, the Trophies for 2021 Jonas led by Arringhieri for the category were awarded "English"; Mir conducted by Aldovard for the “Continental” category; Macchiavello led by Rota for the category "Springer Spaniel" and Daddy led by Daddoveri for the category "Cocker Spaniel". See you all next year!
