Resolution No. 515 of 10/05/2021 approved by Regional Council of Tuscany on the proposal of the councilor for agriculture and hunting Stephanie Saccardi concerning the interventions of withdrawal in control activities (art.37) by the farmer owner and tenant of the fund, it is to be considered a step backwards for the management of the wildlife populations concerned. With this resolution, on which we reserve the right to deepen its technical contents, the farmer or tenant will be able to carry out the containment directly within the agricultural land with simplified procedures compared to the normal procedure envisaged. from art. 37 as a "responsible party".
Despite our willingness to establish a constructive approach to problems related to hunting, we must note with surprise and bitterness, how this and other recent administrative acts they respond to partisan requests, lacking a correct management approach and which risk raising and extending potential tensions and conflicts, without producing the expected results. For months, we have been committed to highlighting the Councilor a series of needs and urgencies concerning hunting and wildlife management in Tuscany. Despite this, we continue to record serious delays in the approval of the regulation implementing the regional law on hunting, the new Regional Hunting Wildlife Plan, the establishment of Hunting Assistance Centers, the detention and use of live calls and the approval of the new Regional Hunting Calendar 2021/2022 with the necessary corrections to the text presented.
On the problem of containments in art. 37, thanks to the commitment of the hunting world and the ATCs, we had achieved a substantial balance on the authorization procedures which, if anything, should have been further streamlined for the planned hunting area and above all for the wildlife institutes and protected areas. We also remind you, for the sake of correctness of information, that the damages paid by the Tuscan ATCs with the economic resources coming from the hunters enrolled in them, in the year 2018 and in the year 2019 amounted to approximately one million euros on a regional basis. An outcome achieved thanks to the commitment of the ATCs, but also for the collaboration of the wild boar hunting teams and districts that have guaranteed important results both in terms of sampling and prevention.
Finally, on a strictly political level, we are deeply concerned about the re-proposal by the Regional Council of methods that had already negatively characterized the action of the majority in the previous legislature. For our part, we continue to believe that it is necessary to avoid reproposing methods and choices divorced from an overall vision, resuming a constructive and forward-looking project with politics and the agricultural world, focused on the real challenges that will affect the agriculture of tomorrow, CAP 2022-2027, Green New Deal, Next Generation EU and on the system of resources that will be part of it, in which hunting and hunters will be able to obtain a central role in safeguarding biodiversity and proper wildlife management.
Politics should qualify on these challenges, focusing on the planning of farmers and hunters, leaving the asphyxiated logic of the mere and simplistic restoration of the damage caused by wildlife to agriculture, in consideration of the enormous amount of economic resources that the European Community will make available in the coming years. In the coming days our confederate associations, Federcaccia Toscana, Anuu migratory Tuscany, Association of the Tuscan Hunters Region, will activate a close confrontation in the territories, starting from the organized system of wild boar hunting teams and districts, on the effects of a decision that cannot be shared and on which we will immediately adopt every useful and necessary initiative.
