No decided on any hypothesis of progressive privatization of hunting in Tuscany. Reopen and recover the consultation to reaffirm the role and competences of the ATC, prefiguring, with the new Regional Wildlife Plan, the management strategies for the relaunch of the Tuscan model. These are some of the essential elements that emerged from the President's conclusions Enrico rossi, at the end of an important meeting held yesterday at the Presidency, in the presence of the Regional Hunting and Agricultural Associations and the ATCs. The clear and shareable position of the President took into account what was strongly highlighted in the speech by Moreno Periccioli, President Federcaccia Tuscany, which on behalf of all the associations belonging to the Confederation of Tuscan Hunters had previously reiterated the need to recover and re-establish a shared path on central issues for the future of hunting in Tuscany.
To return to being the reference Region in the national framework ed get out of the shallows that have characterized this legislature, it is necessary to immediately outline the strategic lines on which to characterize the government action: New Regional Hunting Wildlife Plan, strengthening of the ATCs clarifying their roles and responsibilities in the aftermath of the centralization of competences to the Region, resources for the sector and a new program aimed at the correct wildlife management. Themes that must be accompanied by the clear opposition to the attempts of progressive privatization of hunting, which through the hypothesis of the establishment of social wildlife hunting companies and a progressive multiplication of wildlife-hunting companies also adjacent to the protected areas, represent the central and disturbing points of a document that has been circulating in the region for weeks.
A document without authorship that today assumes the overcoming of social hunting, the closure of the ATCs, the suppression of the Restocking and Capture Areas and strong interference on the activity of the Hunting Associations. A delirium to pave the way for a hunt that we do not want and that cannot be the goal of this Region. Following the interventions of the participants, the Presidents of the ATC have strongly claimed the legitimacy of their work and asked the region for real support which has so far failed. President Rossi proposed to reach a memorandum of understanding to be signed between the organizations, the Region and the ATCs focused on the following points:
- New Government setting to overcome the critical issues regarding wildlife and hunting;
- Guidelines of the New Regional Hunting Wildlife Plan by 31.12.2018;
- Management model, resources, role and skills of the Territorial Hunting Areas;
- Approval of a specific regulation concerning the regional guidelines for the determination and compensation of damage from wildlife to agricultural production;
- Application solidarity fund for ATCs with lower economic income;
- List and methods of rotation for the experts in charge of assessing damage from wildlife;
Following the signing of the protocol, the Regional Council will reformulate some operational resolutions, blocked in previous meetings of the same Council and which in yesterday's meeting it was decided to postpone for further information. Among these, particularly discussed and critically evaluated by the CCT, is the one that envisages assigning the farmer the faculty of direct intervention for the killing of the wild boar species on his own bottom. A questionable rule, perhaps useless for the farmers themselves, which it could generate dangerous legislative vulnus for a correct application of art. 37 and control interventions that should remain the prerogative of ATCs. In the coming days and weeks, the CCT will be committed as always to giving the maximum contribution to the work proposed by President Rossi, with a sense of responsibility and with the autonomy that distinguishes it.
