The month of January is the month of waterfowl counts throughout the western Palaearctic as well as in Asia and Africa, carried out as part of the international project of Wetlands International. In Italy the coordination is entrusted to ISPRA and in various regions some members Federcaccia and ACMA participate in the outings, in teams made up of professional and amateur ornithologists who appreciate the collaboration of ISPRA-certified hunters with examination, who often know well the diurnal remittances of the birds to be counted.
The world of aquatic hunters, represented by the ACMA-FIDC, has long been present in this valuable monitoring activity, which produces the most reliable data on the trends and distribution of waterfowl, with evident repercussions in the hunting field. Federcaccia thanks all the shareholders who are committed and support in every location the documented reality of the hunter-monitor and conservator, for this and for all forms of hunting.
