Il Court of Pordenone confirmed the fine imposed on thirteen hunters of the Aviano Hunting Reserve for selling game without any health authorization. The administrative sanction had sparked immediate controversy, to the point that four of these hunters had turned to justice to try to delete the report. The episode dates back to several years ago, while the officialization of the fines took place in 2016.
The 13 shotguns had knocked down some chamois, delivering them to the Reserve, but there would not have been the necessary health visit. Furthermore, these people did not have the attestation of "Trained hunters", consequently it was not possible to sell the meat for later consumption. The report to the Province, which was competent in the field of hunting at that time, had started the judicial dispute. The violation was that of Article 67 of Royal Decree 7045 of 1890 ("Special regulation for the hygiene supervision of food, drinks and household items").
The chamois had been sold for a social dinner: according to the regulation of the Aviano Reserve, however, part of the heads remain at the shareholder who provided for the killing. Furthermore, the participants in the social dinner were not considered final consumers, another reason why the appeal was rejected.
