Since yesterday, the first of the year, the selection hunt for roe deer has begun in the municipalities of southern Asti. The Region has authorized the culling of 423 young and female animals. About 27 specialized hunters coordinated by the hunting guards of the Provinces will take part in the hunt that will end on January 300th. Hunting will take place on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The hunting calendar includes a short suspension period to resume until mid-March. Considering the serious damage caused to agriculture by these animals, a census is also underway in the north of the Asti area to examine the opportunity to open hunting in this area as well. To increase the number of participants in hunting trips, the Nizza Monferrato ATC has also instituted prizes for hunters with a greater number of animals killed.
