Hunting: in the Province of Asti, the selection of Roe Deer begins with the aim of reducing the population of these ungulates and therefore the serious damage caused to the crops but above all to the vineyards.
Since yesterday, 8 January 2013, in the municipalities south of the province of Asti (Langhe), 205 hunters authorized by the Region, participate in hunting trips to kill roe deer up to the maximum limit set of 112 female or young males. Hunting is authorized until March 14, 2013 on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The purpose of the initiative is to reduce the serious damage caused especially to the vineyards by roe deer. The killed animals, before being given to the slaughterhouse must be checked in Monastero Bormida (AT) by the designated veterinarian, Dr. Raffaella Traversa.
