Anthony Campitelli, regional president of ANLC Abruzzo and number one ofTerritorial area of Vastese hunting, became the protagonist of a beautiful gesture that should be carefully studied by all animal rights activists. Campitelli was in Atessa, in the province of Chieti, and has seen a wounded woodcock along the road. The hunters are accused of shooting just for fun, but in this case the president of the association and the ATC rescued the animal and entrusted it to the care of the State Forestry Corps.
Here is how Campitelli himself told this experience on his Facebook profile: "Becky (provisional name that I decided to give to this woodcock) was handed over to the state forestry corps, which will deliver it to the Pescara Wildlife Recovery Center. I am inquiring about the possibility of being able to ring it before releasing it. In these almost two days that I have kept it in delivery, I spent several hours observing it, I understand why so many consider her to be "the queen": she is a mysterious, regal wild, who bewitches you with her eyes, an animal that makes you fall in love.
Hi Becchy! I hope you can fly again soon, to try to evade the stop of some good dog, a fight to escape from the shot of some nostalgic forest hunter, to excite those who love and crave you, to renew the sacred bond between man and nature, which has existed for thousands of years and which more hypocritical mentality they will never be able to cancel ”.
