The words of President Fini
Activate buffer measures to contrast energy increases to be made structural in maneuver, encourage the purchase of raw materials, appoint an extraordinary commissioner for wildlife at Palazzo Chigi and simplify the tools for finding labor. These are the priorities of the programmatic platform delivered by the president of Cia-Agricoltori Italiani, Cristiano Fini, to the new Minister of Agriculture and Food Sovereignty, Francesco Lollobrigida, in the first official meeting with agricultural organizations. “The CIA particularly appreciated the minister's willingness to meet quickly with the representatives of the farmers - declared Fini-, in line with the speed of the formation of the new government by President Giorgia Meloni”.
Tax credit and energy
Co. it is therefore necessary to respond urgently to the energy crisis which is strangling agricultural entrepreneurs. First of all, with the increase in the tax credit from 20 to 30% of the expenditure incurred for the purchase of agricultural diesel (including the second quarter of 2022). Cia also considers the increase from 30 to 40% of the tax credit for the purchase of electricity to farms to be substantial, as envisaged for energy-intensive companies. With respect to both measures, the CIA considers it essential that they become structural in the next budget maneuver. Furthermore, new fiscal incentives must be envisaged to support the purchase of agricultural production factors (fertilizers, plant protection products, animal feed and seeds), which have reached unsustainable costs. In response to the effects of climate emergencies, the exemption from social security contributions and the subsidized credit for the areas affected by natural disasters will also be considered.
Wildlife emergency
With regard to the wildlife emergency, CIA requests the appointment of an extraordinary commissioner with full powers at the Prime Minister's office and the coordination of a control room with the Regions to reform law 157/1992. It will be essential to make clear the objectives of depopulation of ungulates and to overcome the de minimis regime for compensation for farms affected by the damage. Finally, greater flexibility and simplification of the tools to solve the chronic problem of finding seasonal agricultural labor is a priority, also making use of the possibilities offered by digital innovation (source: CIA Nazionale).
