The first event of the year
Last Saturday 21 January in Paganico (GR), the first dog event of the 2023 season was held. The 1st Memorial Nadio Bianucci, a trial for tracking dogs on single foxes, organized by the Federcaccia – UCT Provincial of Grosseto, was a real success of participation. The friendly test organized by some enthusiasts of this discipline, in addition to remembering his friend Nadio, active heart of the Grosseto Section and passionate fox hunter, wanted to represent a starting point for developing and relaunching the culture of this hunting discipline in our Region.
An ancient form of hunting
In fact, the passionate participants, in the wake of the success of the day, have already expressed their intention to create a new dedicated working group, which will receive all the necessary support from our regional structure. The Federcaccia - Provincial UCT of Grosseto wanted to develop the event precisely because it considers it essential to cultivate this form of hunting among the oldest not only for the historical-hunting value it holds, but also and above all for the importance it holds in wildlife management environment of our territories.
Small sedentary game
It is important to promote the culture of the fox dog in order to be able to manage this game while limiting its numbers in order to protect small sedentary game and various protected species. At the end of a fun and passionate day, a team from the province of Florence, led by Mr. Brunelli Cristian, wins the first prize. All proceeds from the event will be donated to the Federciccia – UCT of Grosseto (source: FIDC).
