CAPOLIVERI. Numerous participants from all over Tuscany met at the Le Calanchiole village in Capoliveri where the gathering was organized. Two days of testing with seven heats, each day in the single, couples and wetsuit categories, two beautiful sunny days that welcomed the competitors fascinated by the beauties of Elba. The judges Aringhieri, Cappagli, Ciampini, Magni, Razzanelli, Rossi Osvaldo, Rossi Luciano and Tozzi have been called to judge.
There are also many Elban competitors curious to try their hand at the test with other Tuscan enthusiasts. At the end of the two days, there were some good qualifications in all categories, everyone was able to verify the difficulties for the hounds in our territory, although rich in hares. In the singles category, excellent performance by the Italian strong-haired hound "Dea" by Giorgio Signorini who won the prize for the best hound on the Island of Elba.
Still in the singles category, the young “Kali”, an Italian strong-haired hound of Nello Bettarini deservedly wins the 1st Elba Island Trophy accompanied by the kind lady. In the couples category, the couple Frana and Geo, Italian short-haired hounds of Lelio Agostini and Gabriele Rinnoci, won the absolute of the 1st Elba Island Trophy, over the couple of Thomas Talli who, however, appeared well in both days of competition. In the wetsuit category, a great challenge between the packs of Italian short-haired hounds of the Fontanelli brothers and that of Marcello Magazzini, both went to the hare's hunt on both days. In the end, the pack of the Italian bloodhounds prevailed for Giotto, Lapo, Giacco, Zago, Diana of the Fontanelli brothers, who, accompanied by their little nephew Matteo, already a great lover of this discipline, won the coveted 1st Elba Island Trophy. A mention also for the pair of “gascoin saintongeois” by Francesco Benvenuti and for that of Italian bloodhounds from Elba Mario Schezzini.
In individual good qualifications for Carmine Grella and Rino Corsetti and Giorgio Schezzini from Elba. Present at the final award ceremony were the Provincial Coordinator of the Tuscany CCT, Mr. Franco Poli, and the President of the FIdC Province of Livorno, Mr. Gino Magni. At the end after the promise to repeat the event also in 2017, the Competitors, the Judges and the Organizers returned to the continent satisfied for having spent a nice weekend in a wonderful and hospitable island.
