Official start
With the Opening Ceremony, hosted by the Arnoldo Foà Poetry Park of Cura di Vetralla (VT), the 59th European Sporting Championship 2026, an event sponsored by the Lazio Region and the Province of Viterbo. 556 shooters from 37 European countries will compete on the platforms of the Vetralla High Speed Rail Station until Sunday, May 3rd, to win the European Championship titles up for grabs in all qualifying rounds. The event was opened by Jean-François Palinkas, President of the International Federation of Shooting Sports with Sporting and Hunting Weapons (FITASC), and Luciano Rossi, President of the Italian Clay Pigeon Shooting Federation (FITAV) and President of the International Shooting Sports Federation (ISSF), reciting the customary formula together.
Continental titles
The competition will kick off with 50 clays per day until Sunday, May 3rd. The Continental Titles will be awarded to the highest scores. In the event of a tie, a play-off will be held to determine the top three places in all rankings. The Italian team, led by Head Coach Veniero Spada, will proudly represent Italy.

Competing will be Cristian Camporese from Padua (PD), Davide Gasparini from Gabicce Mare (PU), Samuele Sacripanti from Amelia (TR), Michael Spada from Fabro (TR) and Daniele Valeri from Spoleto (PG) for the men, Veronica Bertoli from Gavardo (BS), Alessia Panizza from Lierna (LC), Katiuscia Spada from Fabro (TR) and Graziella Zambrino from Perugia (PG) for the women, Jacopo Adamati from Rovato (BS), Mattia Degli Antoni from Passirano (BS), Samuel Ligi from Fermignano (PU) and Thomas Metti from Rufina (FI) for the Junior section, Francesco Bordoni from Terni, Giuseppe Calò from Fucecchio (FI), Alessandro Gaetani from San Miniato (PI) and Giacomo Mori from Pomarance (PI) for the Senior section, Mauro Bosi from Forlì (FC), Claudio Germano Moretti from Rimini (RN) and Carlo Sestini from Empoli (FI) among the Veterans and Giancarlo Ciofini from Perugia (PG), Fabio Daveri from Arezzo (AR) and Salvatore Valentini from Longiano (FC) among the Masters (source: FITAV).
