I Winter Territorial Championships they continue to enliven the fields throughout the peninsula and confirm themselves as one of the central hubs of this first half of the 2026 competitive season, consolidating their role as a reference event for competitors and enthusiasts of national clay pigeon shooting.
A threshold that has been abundantly exceeded
During the penultimate weekend of February, a total of 2.344 shooters took to the range, spread across 24 shooting ranges in 17 regions, demonstrating the involvement of nearly the entire country. For the fifth consecutive week, the 2.000-person attendance mark was exceeded, further demonstrating the continuing influence of the Regional Winter Championships on national shooting.
The rankings
Sicily led the ranking of the most participated regions this time, recording the highest number of participants over the weekend with 349, ideally earning the "gold medal." Close behind was Lombardy, once again among the most active regions in the country, with 317 shooters registered at the Concaverde Trap facility in Lonato del Garda (BS) alone. Piedmont took third place, with 229 competitive shooters. As for competition specialties, the program offered a wide and varied selection, from Olympic Trap to Skeet, as well as the amateur specialties of Compak Sporting, Sporting, and Universal Trap (source: FITAV).
