Coldiretti Ferrara, with the President Tassinari and the Director Visotti, met the Prefect of Ferrara, dr. Campanaro. At the center of the conversation are the initiatives that Coldiretti has made in recent days in all the Italian regions and at national level to highlight the serious problem ofwildlife invasion, where the imbalance between some species is causing damage both to agricultural production and to the territory, with problems also of security and safety for citizens. And if the proliferation of wild boars is the tip of the emergency, there are other species as well, which especially in our territory, represent a threat not to be underestimated, starting from the otters. The Prefect took Coldiretti's alarm and shared the concern and intent to ensure that there is prevention, in compliance with the rules, before the problems get out of control.
And therefore that the necessary changes are needed first of all to the hunting law, to allow a more effective and urgent possibility of containing invasive wildlife, where possible also by farmers and with innovative and experimental methods. The president Tassinari and the director Visotti, in delivering the text of the changes to the law, therefore explained to the Prefect Campanaro, the need to keep attention on the problems relating to our territories. from otters, to pigeons, to corvids and other harmful fauna, which, like wild boars, causes damage to agricultural production and risks for the safety of citizens, especially in some areas of the territory particularly burdened by faunal imbalance (Source: Coldiretti).
