An intense weekend
With great pleasure we would like to share the results of the work carried out during this last weekend, which saw us among the protagonists of the Farming Village of Coldiretti of Rome from 13 to 15 October: a grandiose event, with over 500 stands and more than 2 million visitors. Before Rome in 2023, Villages were established in Cosenza, Bari and San Benedetto del Tronto. These occasions represent a meeting place for the agricultural world with operators in the supply chain, institutions, associations and ordinary people, with the aim of promoting the biodiversity and sustainability of Italian agriculture and the quality of Made in Italy agri-food. This year, for the first time, among the more than 500 stands present in the splendid setting of the Circus Maximus there was also that of Fondazione UNA, through which we offered tastings of wild game meat to visitors and professionals in the sector (including butchers, restaurateurs, hoteliers, etc.), who took part in the event: here, to all those who, curious, approached to discover the delicacies offered, we made them discover a new world, that of game, and talked about therefore hunting in a different way, leaving customers pleasantly surprised by the strong and at the same time delicate taste of this particular meat and by its nutritional values superior to those of traditional meat.
Lots of visitors
The one in Rome was the largest event ever held to support Italian agriculture, with over 2 million visitors and professionals. For us, being present in this context represented an opportunity to get closer and make ourselves known to a new, diversified audience coming from every region of Italy, further demonstrating that alliances such as that of UNA and AB, which have a scientific basis and a rooting with the territory and the realities that surround it, are a true asset to convey the values and best practices implemented by hunters. Furthermore, speaking with the visitors of the Village, we were pleasantly struck by an awareness: that linked to the fact that, finally, the figure of the hunter is no longer seen as opposed to that of the farmer. For the first time, on the contrary, we were able to see firsthand how the wall of hostility that has surrounded and isolated hunters for more than thirty years has been broken down, leaving room for constructive dialogue and people's interest in our world .
A journey that has been underway for some time
Our presence at Villaggio Coldiretti, as well as that at Futura Expo in Brescia, marked a new further stage in a journey that began some time ago to legitimize hunting activity: a long journey, but dotted with important achievements, new goals and objectives increasingly ambitious. This confirms to us the need to continue to dialogue with new worlds, to be proud bearers of positive messages of hunting and of the hunter as a champion of the territory, to emerge from isolation and finally be recognized on the national scene as actors committed to the front line for sustainability environmental (source: UNA Foundation).
