Conarmi, Assoarmieri, FITDS and Directive Committee 477 / Firearms United they jointly signed a document to talk about what the European Union is doing in terms of weapons. In particular, attention was paid to proposal 0269 of 2015 which indicated as objectives the fight against terrorism and the limitation of the number of suicides and murders committed with Weapons in Europe.
The prohibition of different types of weapons used to carry out sports, defense and hunting activities dates back to June 10 and the document did not miss a reference to the reproduction of muzzle-loading weapons used for historical re-enactments. The prospects cited by the associations are not rosy, as Italy would be economically affected by EU policies, harmful for over 90 thousand employees, those of the arms sector which generates 0,6% of the gross domestic product.
Associations pointed out as the recent murder of British MP Jo Cox both the confirmation that legislation based on the prohibition of the possession of civilian weapons increases impunity and criminal aggression. It was therefore asked a comparison with the Italian legislative system, structured and perfected over many years of experience, even if perfectible. A further hope is aimed at setting up a true foreign policy on the part of Italy, in order to claim a guiding and coordinating role.
