popular petition
We report below the press release issued today by Giulia Sottoriva, national president of CONFAVI (Confederation of Italian Hunting Associations): “This Government has been in office for two years but the necessary changes to State Law 157/1992 have not yet been approved. CONFAVI, which I am honored to chair at a national level together with all the other associations that have joined the ACR project, has joined the popular petition in support of the proposed changes to the law prepared by the Honorable Sergio Berlato and subsequently presented to Parliament. In just over three months we have collected over 504230 signatures throughout the country, a sign of explicit agreement with the text of the changes presented to Parliament”.
Appeals to the Regional Administrative Court
"If these changes had been approved, we would have already solved - among others - the problem of the TAR rulings that systematically accept appeals against hunting calendars presented by various animal-environmentalist associations. What is the national government waiting for to keep the commitments made to hunters throughout Italy? What is the national government waiting for to manage and coordinate the activity of some supervisory bodies and to check that their operational services are truly dedicated to the prevention and repression of poaching instead of giving the impression of being dedicated mainly to hunting the hunter?"
The future vote
"What are the Italian Government and parliamentarians waiting for to restore dignity to the Italian hunting world, so repeatedly trampled by the specious incursions of the animal-environmentalist archipelago? What are this Government and these Italian parliamentarians waiting for to honor the commitments made to the Italian hunting world? Are you so sure that hunters and other bearers of rural culture will return to vote for you if you do not demonstrate that you know how to honor the commitments made?".
