All those who in recent years have had the opportunity to know the work done by Confederation of Tuscan Hunters to represent the requests of the Tuscan hunting world, will certainly have observed on several occasions how much importance has been given to the theme of scientific knowledge and data collection. The most distracted hunters have sometimes mocked or criticized us for this type of approach to problems because, in their opinion, battles, especially those related to Venatori calendars, at the time of hunting and huntable species, they are won by making the "big voice" or by exercising aggressive and muscular claims policies in the institutional confrontation.
Populism and claiming indifference have never been part of the cultural background of the CCT and its member associations. On the contrary, for some time now the conviction has matured more and more that in order to beat our detractors and defeat the cultural aggression of a certain anti-hunt animal / environmentalist world, too often we continue to discount the effects, it was necessary to equip ourselves precisely on the objective level of science and knowledge through the power of data. The ability to respond with the solidity of arguments and irrefutable numbers to the continuous attacks put in place, at all levels, by those who have long hoped to reduce our calendars to a flicker and with them the hunting activity.
An inversion of political and organizational trend, which has had and still needs greater economic and professional investments. We can and should definitely do more! From the experience gained, however, it is evident that important battles that have also seen us protagonists in Tuscany such as the defense of hunting of woodcock, turdidae, pochard, lapwing and the pre-opening maintenance of the collection of wild turtledove, have been supported and largely won, thanks to the contribution and the contribution of studies and scientific researches produced by the hunting world. For these reasons, it is our intention to go ahead decisively on this path.
La CCT, despite the limited resources available, has developed and supported over time, particular experiences and projects that we believe should now be considered a heritage of all hunters, or at least of those who do not intend to resign themselves while everything is transformed outside. Today, with a short but meaningful video, we want to tell the work that some enthusiasts and qualified technicians have been carrying out for some years in the Ornithological Center called “Malpascso”, in the province of Grosseto. A pulsating reality in the heart of the Maremma which has been able to gain accreditation, not only as a place of knowledge and research but also as a reference for schools, for young people and for all those who care about the protection of the environment and fauna without dogmas or preconceptions (Source: CCT).
