Le Recognized hunting associations and the CNCN ask the institutions for attention to the damage to crops by wildlife and hope for an enhancement of synergies with the agricultural world in terms of faunal containment and land management. There Control room of the hunting world, representing Italian hunters, confirms its commitment to strengthen dialogue with institutions so that activities related to the hunting sector, in particular those relating to containment of wildlife for the protection of agricultural fields, can restart during the current phase 2.
Management interventions on fauna represent an essential element for the protection of the agricultural sector, allowing farmers to carry out their work safely and in the best conditions: hunting, in fact, plays a fundamental role in regulating the balance towards wildlife which, if not controlled, causes considerable damage to agricultural crops. In this context, the hunting system is committed to strengthening the synergies already in place with the agricultural world in terms of management, development and protection of the territory, thus contributing to guaranteeing sustainable growth for the primary sector and sufficient food supply.
Furthermore, the practice of hunting and the activities related to it do not involve risks related to a potential contagion from Coronavirus. The health emergency linked to the coronavirus, like what is happening in other sectors, is profoundly marking the economic and productive social fabric that revolves around different economic systems, including hunting, with potentially serious consequences for the agricultural sector. After reaching the peak of the emergency, we have entered phase 2, which we hope will allow small and medium-sized enterprises, which permeate the Italian territory, to resume operations, safeguarding essential productions and continuing to guarantee jobs. These also include all the realities that operate in the hunting industry, whose turnover we recall amounts to almost 8 billion euros, or 0,44% of GDP, involving almost 90.000 employees.
Social distancing and the use of masks will become mandatory practices in the exercise of any type of activity in the coming weeks; the hunting world is ready to face this challenge, to start again following all the necessary precautions and becoming the bearer of a great sense of responsibility, which already characterizes this sector and the people who are part of it, as demonstrated daily even in these days of full emergency. United we will do it!
