" Umbria Region will shortly sign an agreement with Province of Terni to make use of the collaboration of the provincial police in specific surveillance and control activities in hunting and fishing matters. For this purpose, they have been allocated in the regional budget the resources needed to cover expenses". This was communicated by the Regional Councilor for the Environment, Roberto Morroni, making it known that, on his proposal, the Regional Council approved the agreement scheme that will regulate relations between the two entities.
“With the reorganization of functions and competences linked to the reform of the Provinces - he recalls Morroni - the Carabinieri Forestali and the voluntary surveillance system ensure compliance with national and regional laws and regulations on the subject of fishing and hunting on the regional territory. The support of the Provincial Police Corps, strengthened by a wealth of skills and knowledge acquired in the fishing-hunting sector, will further strengthen the protection of our wildlife and environmental heritage ".
Among other things, they are entrusted to the Police Corps of the Province of Terni supervisory activity on the application of the legislation on the protection of fish heritage and the protection of wildlife and for hunting, control and supervision of activities connected with wildlife management and authorizations issued by the Region. Furthermore, according to the agreement, he will be called to collaborate in specific wildlife control and management operations and will coordinate the supervisory activity of voluntary hunting and fishing sworn guards. The supervisory and control activities will be carried out in compliance with the functional autonomy of the Province of Terni, according to the guidelines identified by the Region and with annual verification of the activities carried out.
