Camillo D'Amico, president of the regional section ofAbruzzo of COPAGRI (Confederation of Agricultural Producers), addressed a note to Dino Pepe, regional councilor for hunting, and to the president of the competent commission Lorenzo Berardinetti. D'Amico asked for a change to the Law 10 of 2004 ( "Organic legislation for the exercise of hunting activities, the protection of homeothermic wildlife and the protection of the environment“), In order to allow farmers to become presidents of the Territorial Areas of Hunting.
On March 31st, the beginning of the renewal of the management committees in some ATCs already expired or close to expiry was announced: it was a "green table" and already on that occasion the association made present some points reaffirmed in this note. First of all, point 6 of article 32 of the law should be amended, according to which the presidency of the committees belongs exclusively to the hunting associations.
For COPAGRI Abruzzo, accepting the agricultural sector also means recognizing the role of the sector and the livestock sector. D'Amico then reiterated that the number of Abruzzo ATCs (11) is excessive, although a new numerical definition will only be possible after the entry into force of the regional wildlife plan. A response from the Abruzzo Region is now awaited.
