On a note that Hunting Federation has attached in full, the Ministry of Health contains useful information regarding the handling of animals, with particular reference to the transport of animals not intended for reproductive and zootechnical activities. Here is what can be read in the document: “The principle underlying the measures taken is aimed at avoiding the movement of natural persons on the national and European territory, unless proven work needs as defined in the note of 12/03/2020.
These needs must be traced back to the casuistry of those activities that cannot be deferred pursuant to the note of 02/03/2020. Therefore, the work activities are to be understood as those correlated with the provisions of annex 1, lett. C, numbers 2 and 3. With particular reference to transport of animals not intended for reproductive and zootechnical activities it is stated that these can only be transported for needs related to the health and well-being of the animals. Here are some non-exhaustive examples:
- Return to the usual place of detention;
- Movements to a veterinary facility to ensure the necessary veterinary care;
On the other hand, it is expressly forbidden, among others, movements intended for the movement of animals for recreational purposes and for their training. Finally, it is shown that in the zootechnical and reproductive sector it is allowed to move animals to and from breeding stations, insemination centers and embryo production centers. Furthermore, all movements must be carried out in compliance with current sector regulations ".
