Alessandro Pajno, Chairman of the Council of State, has decided to temporarily suspend the sentence with which the Regional Administrative Court of Friuli Venezia Giulia had the Wildlife Plan canceled. We are talking about the plan adopted almost a year ago (in July 2015 to be precise) by the Friuli Region. This means that the ruling of the TAR is temporarily not enforceable, moreover, the decision was postponed to the collegial evaluation that will be made in the first useful council chamber.
The choice of the Council of State is very important from the hunting point of view because the suspension means that wildlife activities and hunting in Friuli can continue, therefore the hunters will have no limitations. The tug-of-war between animal rights activists and Friulian hunters held court for some time and the cancellation of the Regional Wildlife Plan by the administrative judges had arrived after the presentation of two appeals.
The parties did not want to give up even a moment, in particular the hunting sector has stressed several times of wanting to respect the hunting calendar, while the animal rights activists have demanded the blocking of all activities. Among the solutions proposed there was that of the continuation of the hunt with an ad hoc provision before arriving at the appeal to the Council of State.
