CPA writes to the Governor of Sardinia, on the hunting situation in the island close to the upcoming elections for the renewal of the Regional Council.
With a letter to the Governor of Sardinia, the hunting association Caccia Pesca Ambiente takes stock of the hunting situation on the island close to the upcoming elections for the renewal of the Regional Council. Subject: elections for renewal of the Regional Council.
Dear Governor, in the distant month of March 2009, immediately after your inauguration, we sent you a letter to congratulate you and your coalition, meaning that 70% of the hunters supported your candidacy as the previous Regional Council had never seriously faced the problems related to hunting. We also supported her because she, on more than one occasion, during her electoral campaign assemblies declared that Sardinian hunters in 2010 would go hunting in February.
We also wrote this sentence: “Dear Governor, Sardinian hunters ask that the peculiarities of their land and their traditions be respected. We would no longer want to suffer the injustices and penalties that other hunters of the peninsula and other European countries do not suffer. In short, we ask that we no longer be treated as third-class citizens.
We also ask you that only competent people who know the real needs of the territory sit in the wildlife committees, not individuals who participate only to collect the attendance fee. The hunters pay good money into the regional coffers, so we would like our money to be reinvested to plan repopulation throughout the region, with the hope that a hunting calendar will be drawn up that is suited to our needs… ”.
Dear Governor, four years and 8 months later, practically close to the next elections for the renewal of the Regional Council of Sardinia, we wanted to write you a letter to thank you and to tell you that we will continue to support you, but alas it is sad to report that the instead of improving the situation has worsened.
Personally (but I can assure you that it is the thought of many hunters and professionals), in hunting matters, I think this was the worst regional administration we have ever had. Last year on the occasion of a meeting with the representatives of the gunsmiths, and the AA.VV. looking into her eyes, I also told her that if something hadn't changed we would no longer support her, and she replied: "this is blackmail" and I told her again: this is not blackmail, it will be the right "reward" for not having kept the commitments made!
You still have a few months to put your hand to the new regional law on hunting, let's see what you can do, good job Governor, you and the whole coalition, we look forward to it, otherwise we will know what to do!
The Regional President
Marco Efisio Pisanu
