Legambiente and Libera: "The Chamber immediately approves the text issued by Palazzo Madama without making any changes".
“After the very large majority vote in the Senate, we are very close to the final approval of a law that we have been waiting for for over 20 years. The Chamber of Deputies should immediately put the draft law on ecoreati on the agenda and approve this reform of civilization without making changes to stop once and for all the thieves of the future. The protection of the environment, health and the healthy part of the economy can no longer wait ". So Stefano Ciafani, vice president of Legambiente and Enrico Fontana, national coordinator of Libera, present in the classroom this morning, commented on the positive vote of the Senate classroom on the Ddl on environmental crimes in the criminal code which has as its first signatories the parliamentarians Ermete Realacci (Pd), Salvatore Micillo (M5S) and Serena Pellegrino (Sel).
"Thanks to the vote in the classroom yesterday afternoon - continued the representatives of the two associations that promoted the appeal 'In the name of the polluted people: environmental crimes suffered in the Criminal Code' signed by 23 other associations and by about 70.000 citizens - the non-punishment of culpable crimes in the event of reclamation, so dear to Confindustria, was finally canceled and further improvements were made to the text thanks to the favorable vote of the majority, the Five Star Movement and Sel.
Now we ask the President of the Chamber, the Presidents of the Justice and Environment Commissions and the Montecitorio group leaders to immediately schedule a bill on which an overwhelming majority has now consolidated that goes beyond all sides, to finally approve it without making other changes. Any hypothesis to improve the text can possibly be included in a parallel bill, without hindering and further delaying the final approval of the text approved today by the Senate ”.
