THEISPRA (Higher Institute for Environmental Protection and Research) has provided its opinion on the hunting calendar of Sardinia as regards the 2022-2023 season. It is a total of 9 pages in which the institute has written down its observations, many destined to make the hunting world turn up their noses. In particular, ISPRA would like the closure of the hunting to be brought forward for species such as song thrush (January 10) and the woodcock (January 15).
There were also comments regarding the number of cullable migratory species, with a request to reduce the number itself. As regards the opening of the hunt, foreseen by the hunting calendar, recently approved for Sardinia by CFR, it is requested to postpone the opening of Quaglia to 1 October, compared to the 18 September scheduled today, leaving the opening to 18 September only for Cornacchia, Ghiandaia and Tortora.
Turning instead to the wild dove, for the institute it will have to be monitored with the simultaneous census of the culls. Finally, the wild boar hunting if nothing else, it has received the approval of ISPRA, which intends to activate these killing through selection hunts throughout the territory of Sardinia.
