The story of the advertising billboard exposed by animal rights activists a Brescia Sant'Eufemia had a prologue. Offended and indignant by the images on display, a young hunter, strong only in his boundless passion and without any assignment in any hunting association, has promoted on the Facebook platform a collection of hair dryersdi to try to answer by the same means to the animal rights provocation. In a few days, receiving the most disparate donations, the young man raised enough funds to rent an advertising truck and create a poster that carried a phrase, on the stylized background of a hunter who read: “Don't hate what you don't know”.
Legitimate initiative, a beautiful idea born spontaneously with the sole objective of responding with intelligence and grace to an initiative that is broken up and much criticized even within the anti-hunting galaxy for the brutality of the images proposed. So far nothing wrong as long as someone has taken the trouble to smear the initiative with aggressive phrases of the young hunter. A serious episode, very serious, which once again demonstrates the incurable contrapposition between the two worlds, incurable because theunableity to confront, in a serious and objective way, by some animal rights groups. Rightly a complaint was made by the client of the poster ai Carabinieri but another initiative was promoted by the young hunter.
Por because of the Covid any kind of gathering is forbidden and therefore it is impossible to organize any type of event, this morning the representatives of all the hunting associations of Brescia together with some representatives of the institutions, accompanied the smeared advertising truck in the square in front of Palazzo Broletto, seat of the Prefecture of Brescia. The initiative is very intelligent and of sure media impact and has the sole aim of making the Prefect of Brescia yet another intimidating action inflicted on the Brescia hunting world. After the destruction of the huts perpetrated in Franciacorta and in other areas of our province, after the questionable checks undergone by some hunters, after the incitement to violence reported on social networks against hunters and promptly reported to the prosecutor, still a gesture of defiance.
But if these gentlemen are looking for a fight, they should know that they will only receive from the hunting world complaints and never acts violenses because on this aspect the hunting associations are firmly watching and because we hunters are not so stupid as to fall into the trap. The MEP attended Pietro fiocchi, the councilor Floriano Massardi and other representatives of institutions who are fed up with this barbarism. They are sick of seeing a category subject of constant attacks without any of the guilty having yet been caught and convicted. We are confident, in Federcaccia Brescia we can only be, that sooner or later this havoc will end. A first beginning of the unity of the hunting world should start from these episodes: the associations will have to make a common front not only in the right protest initiatives but also to try to bring out those responsible for these actions.
To appoint professionals in the sector to initiate cognitive investigations of these violent fringes to provide concrete information to the police, it would definitely be one of the answers that tens of thousands of Lombard hunters expect. Act legally but act! Do you need funds? How a young hunter of thirty found them to respond to an offensive manifesto by starting a fundraiser associations can then also find them. We need to build a structured model, a confederation of hunting associations that knows how to respond in a timely manner to these attacks by searching the source of authors and maybe even the clients.
Nothing is easy, nothing is immediate, nothing is certainly effective but until we try this enterprise we will not be able to know. Federcaccia Brescia has already made a first appeal, e soon, promoted by Federcaccia Lombardia, we will ask for a meeting with the other associations to try to pursue this proposal together under the only flag that unites us, the passion of hunting. We are confident that everyone knowsthey will understand the good intentions of our proposal and will adhere because our own associates ask us for it. For too long, perhaps always, we have entrusted the protection of our passion to others, the time has come to be "faber”, Advocates, protagonists of our future, the survival of hunting.
