Springer Spaniel - We all know more or less that it is a typical breed and much used in England and Ireland, that it is a great hunting dog and not exclusively for retrieving instead many ignore it, especially in the beautiful country.
There is nothing wrong with using it Springer spaniel to recover "dead and wounded", but this is not enough, and getting him used to the shed life is a real crime. This breed needs a lot more, it needs to search and find prey, of course using its super nose; once she has found it, she has all the credentials to force her to reveal herself, and after a five-star shotgun from the hunter, then she eagerly brings back the game.
Let's not forget, this beautiful dog with great hunting potential is able to give the best of himself, to show his energy, intelligence and courage when he is on the lookout. It is a dog able to excite the hunter even without the stop, thanks to its skilful use of the wind.
An exceptional dog, to be known to be able to exploit it in the best way, which in Italy has had a completely personal evolution, thanks to at least two great men, hunters and breeders.
Springer spaniel - The typical breed of the United Kingdom, which arrived in Italy, has necessarily evolved to adapt to the taste of the hunters of the beautiful country.
The first to have imported Springer's in our country, Marco Valcarenghi, an adventurous hunter, carried by his passion in many corners of the world in a serious and professional way, was once much more difficult to reach than they are today. He knew how to hunt, he did it in a critical and conscious way and he knew how to recognize good dogs: the Springer Spaniel must have seemed to him from the start a very good dog.
His breeding system was not easy at all: he wanted to obtain excellent hunting dogs, not forgetting the morphological standard. The results were more than satisfactory, thanks also to his consistency.
It was fundamental for the evolution of the Springer spaniel in Italy also the contribution of Domenico Coradeschi, a great breeder who worked with passion taking into maximum consideration the hunting qualities of the dog, importing whenever he considered it useful, choosing the dogs to mate with dedication and high knowledge.
The numbers of Springer born in Italy begin to increase exponentially after 1970: in 1972 there are 147 and slowly the Italian hunters begin to take an interest in this dog that becomes more and more accredited year after year.
Of course, even the dog has been able to promote itself: it was probably his characters that attracted the spotlight on him. His desire for game, strength and perseverance, excellent resilience and good character could certainly not go unnoticed. In addition, the Springer Spaniel was able to exploit the wind very well. He was never a pointing dog, but he was able to behave in a similar way by catching the emanation from the wind and letting himself be guided on the animal.
Lo Springer he wins his game thanks to his ace in the paw: he was able to hunt on any territory and to be used in almost any hunt. The Italians liked it, and still like it already that even today it is able to exhibit exceptional skills that must however be fully exploited by the hunter.
