THEItalian National Dog-loving Body (ENCI) has published the official calendar of mountain game tests for pointing dogs of continental breeds and valid for the assignment of the Paolo Ciceri Trophy (2016 edition). The first tests are scheduled for the weekend of 12 and 13 March next, the deadline will instead be 11 September, so we are talking about a total of eight months of the event. There are six appointments and it is worth investigating the dates and locations where these important tests will take place. As already mentioned, on March 12 there will be the official debut in Frattura di Scanno, in the province of L'Aquila, location also chosen for the recent Saladini Trophy. The organizing committee is represented in this case by the Sagittario Sangro Dog Group and by the New Marsicano Dog Group.
For the next stage you will have to wait five months, given that two summer days have been chosen: the second round of the Ciceri Trophy will take place on 13 and 14 August in Thyon les Collons, Switzerland, event organized by the Swiss Epagneul Breton Club. A few days later, on 17 and 18 August to be precise, we will move to Trentino Alto Adige. The third round of the event will take place a Fierozzo (province of Trento), by the Trentino Canine Group.
There are few days of difference even compared to the fourth test, that of 20 and 21 August, always in the northern region: the locations selected by ENCI are again in the province of Trento, namely Roncegno and Torcegno with the same organizing committee. The last two tests valid for the awarding of the trophy will take place in France (6,7 and 8 September), specifically in Saint Sorlin, and ad Aosta (10-11 September), with the Valle d'Aosta Dog Group to manage everything. What regulations must be respected for mountain game?
According to the provisions of the ENCI, the valid game is represented by rock partridge, ptarmigan, black grouse, grouse, francolini and variable hares (with the exception of the variable hare for continental pointing breeds). To compete for the final classification, it is necessary to participate in at least half of the days of tests carried out effectively. The ranking will take into consideration all the subjects, in case of parity we will refer to the highest qualification, otherwise to the youngest age. The female subject with the best score on the circuit and with at least one qualification of "Excellent" will win the prestigious trophy which is destined for the best female. The Paolo Ciceri Trophy consists of a representation of a black grouse or a rock partridge.
