Wild boar hunting: A walk in Sardinia to hunt quail, partridge and wild boar guests of a farmhouse immersed in sincere and wild scenarios, as tasty as the days you can spend there.
Even if hunting was not allowed, the Su Nuraghe farmhouse deserves to be visited for the spectacular location in which it is inserted, but since it is a farm but also a hunting company, it is able to attract lovers of nature and good hunting. Almost 1200 hectares wide, the hunting and pastoral farming and zootechnical company is part of a larger Agricultural Cooperative Society which includes 50 members who mainly deal with sheep and goat breeding. The bucolic, wild and sincere environment is one of those rather inviting, and each season is able to offer different attractions, aromas and tastes that are not forgotten.
A dip in the most authentic Sardinia since the guests of the Su Nuraghe farmhouse have the opportunity to rest in the characteristic pinnettas, rather ancient yet comfortable circular structures, embraced by the warm island hospitality and pampered thanks to the typical local gastronomy. But the aspect that most interests the loyal hunters who commonly reach the company is the hunting one: this proposes to passionate hunts for wild boar, rather stimulating, but also solitary hunting for partridge and quail. Repopulated through internal breeding and of course, the territory belonging to the company is entirely fenced and divided into 24 hunting compartments each about 5 hectares wide. Other areas are dedicated exclusively to the training of dogs with or preferably without a shot.
Game farming takes place in 6 decentralized structures with respect to the Hunting House and Farmhouse, located in the Isalle plain and on the Orrule plateau. In these buildings there are incubators and open-air aviaries for the reproduction of quails and partridges. It might seem superfluous but it should be remembered: hunting is allowed during the days scheduled in the calendar and refers exclusively to the game provided: specifically, the guests of Su Nuraghe can hunt quail, partridge and wild boar, but also foxes and game. sedentary and step. And the game in the surroundings of Su Nuraghe certainly is not lacking: the height on which the company is located (about 60 meters above sea level) guarantees all the floristic and vegetational conditions that benefit the sedentary game that has no difficulty whatsoever for the nesting, both migratory that find easy shelters in the area.
Although inaccessible and wild, the locality is well marked by a dense network of roads and dirt tracks that make the hunter's job rather simple and travel less tiring, without depriving the visitor of the ancient charm of the area. At the end of the hunting day, waiting for the hunter there is an inviting table set with dishes deriving exclusively from local farms: an explosion of taste and traditional island gastronomy not to be missed.
Those who choose to reach the farmhouse in the company of their family can devote themselves not only to hunting but also to fun excursions: the structure is in fact not far from truly suggestive archaeological sites: to mention Enna and Thomes, Serra Orrios, Su Tempiesu and Su Gologone.
