Fascinating hunt to take place a few steps from the water or even inside boats, the one to the Anatre every year invites millions of Italian hunters to organize a fascinating trip to Romania. Not only new hunting techniques will be discovered, but uncontaminated territories and fairytale landscapes.
It is no secret that ducks prefer humid environments and it is therefore inevitable for them to live near lakes, swamps, marshes or river deltas. It matters little whether the water in question is fresh or salty or whether it is temporary or permanent formations, the duck adapts quite quickly. What makes a territory more or less attractive is not only the presence of water, but also, as it is obvious to imagine, the presence of food sources. If the place is also safe, quiet and well hidden from prying eyes, have no doubts, you will find a settlement of ducks.
This is why Romania is particularly popular for hunting this original and beloved species. An ancient land full of history, Romania is famous for its wooded and water-rich regions, where ducks abound. Given the richness and above all taken into consideration the beauty of the places, the unmediated contact with nature, the possibility of knowing such a wild and satisfying territory, it is inevitable to conclude that a trip to Romania for a hunter is an experience not to be missed. .
Obviously you can decide to organize the trip independently, yet for those who have little time available or for anyone who does not want to complicate their life with unnecessary difficulties, it is advisable to book your trip by relying on a serious and reliable hunting association. The managers will really think of everything and the hunter will have nothing to do but enjoy the journey, enjoying in complete tranquility an experience that he can talk to friends and relatives about.
The preferential areas for hunting, made available to the hunter or group of hunters, will inevitably be close to marshes or lakes and during the stalking you will be able to meet not only wonderful groups of ducks, lovers of solitary and hidden places, but also substantial communities of snipe. The hunt usually takes place with the help of molds and calls, guests of huts or even boats. Intriguing isn't it? Hunting from stalking in huts or barrels is certainly the most practiced, and the huts will look out directly on the water, masterfully merging with the vegetation that grows all around. If, on the other hand, you will be offered hunting in barrels, these will be placed on small islets present and particularly close to the water. The difference between huts and barrels is that the latter are really of considerable size and it is often difficult to camouflage them with the surrounding environment, which is of fundamental importance for the success of the hunt.
If you rely on a hunting association (there are really many that carry out this kind of service) you will not only be welcomed at the airport, but guided directly to your accommodation, most of the time a few kilometers from the hunting areas. In any case, inform yourself during the booking phase that this type of service is offered and investigate the type of treatment proposed. The full board solution is excellent, also offering traditional Romanian dishes, just to spoil your trip in the best possible way.
You will also need to inquire about the Romanian hunting permit, the veterinary certificate and the conservation of the game as well as the possibility of exporting all that which was shot.
Don't assume that all hunting items will be provided on site. It will therefore be better to bring the molds with you, if in possession, while usually the decoys will be found on site.
Among the documents that you absolutely must bring with you, do not forget the passport or identity card, the firearms license (in copy), and the copy of the certificate of the police headquarters with authorization for the temporary expatriation of weapons if you decide to bring your rifle.
The recommended period for organizing this kind of trip runs from the beginning of November until late February.
