Paladins of the Territory
Hunters and citizens together for the cleaning and management of the territory. This is the spirit behind the "Paladins of the Territory" initiative of Fondazione UNA to which many sections of the Italian Hunting Federation spread throughout Italy have joined, contributing radically to its success. Last but only in chronological order is the Adro-Torbiato Federcacciatori Section – a village located in Franciacorta near the Iseo lake, in the province of Brescia - took to the field in collaboration with Fondazione UNA, the municipal administration of Adro and the BCC of Basso Sebino, giving life on Sunday 28 July to an ecological day called "puliAMO Adro-Torbiato" dedicated to the cleaning of green areas , woods and vineyards.
Ecological island
From 7:00 am to 11:30 am, approximately 50 volunteers, including members of the section and citizens, set to work at a good pace in the areas identified in the municipal territory of Adro and the hamlet of Torbiato). “The event – the organizers said – was unfortunately a success. We say 'unfortunately' because we would never have expected to have to collect and deliver such a quantity of waste to the ecological island of Adro, which at the end of the few hours of work amounted to around 200 big bags in addition to glass, cans, tires and other waste of all kinds for a total weight that amounts, it seems incredible to say, to 1.600 kilograms!
The future of days like this
A dutiful thanks goes to the UNA Foundation which provided uniforms, equipment and part of the material used, to the Municipal Administration of Adro for its patronage and the possibility of free delivery to the ecological island and to the BCC of Basso Sebino for having partly contributed to support organizational expenses. Given the result - they conclude from the Federcaccia Adro Section - we will certainly organize new events of this kind in the near future" (source: Federcaccia).
