Green light to hunting calendar for the 2020-2021 season valid throughout theEmilia Romagna which since Monday, May 4, has opened the wild boar selection hunting, the only form of hunting currently permitted, to prevent and reduce damage to agricultural production. The general opening of the hunt, which affects about 38 species that can be hunted in the regional territory, will instead start on September 20th and will close on January 31, 2021.
In implementation of the Regional Hunting Wildlife Plan, the sampling plan establishes the number of wild boars that can be taken from the various hunting districts as a function of the impact that the species has on agricultural production in terms of the amount of damage per square kilometer. Among the novelties, in the provincial control plans it was established that the provinces and the Metropolitan City of Bologna also make use of proprietary farmers o fund holders with a hunting license, duly authorized.
The control plans are conducted throughout the year in areas of the territory where hunting is prohibited such as parks, oases, reserves, restocking areas. After the selection hunt for wild boar, which opened on 4 May, on 1 June the roe deer hunt opens, while on 3 September there will be pre-opening for crow, magpie, jay, dove and blackbird. The general opening of the hunt is set for 20 September, with closing on January 31, 2021, with the exception of the selected species which can be hunted until March 31st.
