Giovanni Damiano of Enalcaccia Cuneo entrusted TargatoCN with a very interesting letter. Here is the text: "I allow myself to insert myself in the debate that has become frenetic after the death of the Albese motorist, who was the victim of a serious accident caused by a herd of wild boars. The world of regional policy is understandably running for cover and we are already talking about Emergency "table" with the Prefectures of Piedmont: the extraordinary measures seem to be ready to protect the safety of people.
One can only agree. But at the same time, as a hunter and manager of a national hunting association, I would like to remind you that before the extraordinary measures should come the ordinary ones. The ordinary for me would be to allow 10 Piedmontese passionate hunters to exercise their passion without creating any kind of problems and difficulties at every opportunity. The current regional law (5/2018) certainly does not go in this sense, precisely because it aims to "tire" Piedmontese hunters with countless obstacles and technicalities: just think of article 22 of the aforementioned law, which speaks of extraordinary intervention measures.
This is accompanied by the exponential growth of parks and protected areas (thousands of hectares in the Varaita and Po Valleys, to which the areas affected by fires of three years ago) in which the wolf is obviously not enough to contain wild ungulates. Dear Councilor Protopapa remember that “ordinary” sizes are usually the best, because they are effective and above all at no cost for the community: after all, no one knows the territories and wildlife better than us. So let us go hunting. It would be good for the world of politics to become aware that the Hunter is an important and useful figure, especially in the management of some dynamics affecting the agricultural world. Personally, I hope that this can be taken into account when the new regional law on the subject of hunting takes place ”.
