The earthquake that once again shocked Central Italy pushed theENPA (National Animal Protection Body) to even turn to Angelino Alfano, Minister of the Interior, to obtain a ban on hunting in the most affected regions, namely Umbria, Marche, Lazio and Abruzzo. According to the animal rights association, the presence of hunters in the woods and in the countryside is a risk for the safety of people and animals.
Another aspect underlined in the note of the institution is that of viability, as the hunters' cars could hinder the proper functioning of the rescue machine. ENPA would have expected greater sensitivity from hunting associations, even if we must remember the case of municipalities of Amatrice and Accumoli, in which the activity was suspended and the Prefect of Rieti to at least resume wild boar hunting.
Environmentalists illustrate scenarios that are too catastrophic, such as that of the rescuers who are in the earthquake areas that they could be victims of hunting accidents. There will certainly be reactions to the position taken by the National Animal Protection Authority.
I would not be surprised if Minister Angelino Alfano accepts the request made by the ENPA.
These have described to the minister, the hunters as a barbarian horde that shoots at everything and everyone, rushing back and forth in the earthquake areas with the cars ???
Perhaps these gentlemen have forgotten, I have deliberately forgotten to say, that the hunters, frequenting the woods and territory of the earthquake areas, know it like the back of their hands, being able to indicate to the rescuers who are not local, alternative roads on how to reach the areas. isolated from the earthquake.
I think that ALL hunters can undoubtedly distinguish the difference between a sheep or a goat, a roe deer or a fallow deer, as they know how to distinguish a hen from a pheasant, or a pig from a boar !!!
The same cannot be said of the ENPA members.
