A hunter got away with a reprimand after walking into a restaurant in Monregale, in the province of Cuneo, with a shotgun inside a jute sack. The man risked the complaint on the loose for caused alarm, as the weapon was still visible, in particular the stock could be seen in sight.
The report came from one zoophilic guard of the OIPA (International Animal Protection Organization), according to which such a custody could cause fear in what is in fact a public place. There has been no provision, but the intervention of the Carabinieri on the spot would have been possible in case the hunter had insisted with the rifle kept that way.
According to the provisions of the TULPS, the firearm must be kept with the utmost diligence, in the interest of public safety. This is a much more general obligation compared to what is expected for those who collect or collect weapons, consequently it is never easy in practice to establish what a diligent custody of the weapon you are in possession of.
