Caccia Ambiente: A response from Caccia Ambiente to the statements of Sen. Orsi.
In recent days I was reading the beautiful interview that Federica Ricci, National Head of the youth movement of Fareambiente, carried out with Senator Orsi.
During the same, a direct question from Ricci and a concise answer from the Senator read as follows:
How do you see the position of the party formed by the “Caccia Ambiente” hunters for the next elections?
It is a defeat if a party is born to defend one's passion. For those with that passion and for politics. Do you imagine a party of cyclists or art lovers or traders?
To Sen. Orsi
Illustrious Senator perhaps it will seem strange to you but in part I agree with you.
I do not believe either in the party of cyclists or in that of accountants and until recently I would not have believed even in that of hunters. It should not be necessary in an evolved and democratic country that a group that intends to defend its own ideal or passion should have recourse to its own party to make up for the indifference of the institutions.
This happens when politics, the usual politics, is deaf and insensitive and fails to represent all the parties worthily. This happens when politics fails. Politics has failed! your policy has failed, we have never done so until now. And this is the first point on which he was wrong.
It is not the birth of Caccia Ambiente that caused the defeat of politics, but the exact opposite: it is the defeat of hunting policy that made it necessary to create Caccia Ambiente.
For too long, decades now, many before her, whose commitment we sincerely appreciate, have spent themselves in the defense of the hunting activity and the results are there for all to see.
Shamelessly we have been mocked at every election, many promises, many I will do and endless invitations to trust then never reciprocated with facts. It was easy to leverage the hunter's credulity, the simplicity of his claims and also a widespread and atavistic ignorance now rarer.
We had patience, we waited in vain and every now and then we were satisfied with a little gift that served only to distract us from the toys that in the meantime were given to the protectionists. This has happened over the years with the consent and the hand of politics, the politics that today once again promises facts and asks for trust. But we are tired!
This hunting activity that is today a ship adrift must be led by someone and if I can think of you as a good captain, it is difficult for me to believe that it can go far if you have the Brambilla as a boatswain and a Granata or Catanoso as a ship's hub.
I repeat we are tired but not resigned and before giving others the helm of a ship that we want to bring to the bottom we decided to guide it ourselves; on the other hand it is our ship!
The other inaccuracy, perhaps deliberate, imagines Caccia Ambiente as a Party composed and followed by hunters only, but obviously this is not the case.
There are many of us who do not have a hunting license, there are many fishing enthusiasts, many non-traditional environmentalists, many mushroom makers, many farmers. We represent a disgruntled rural world with a thirst for revenge, that revenge that for hunters in particular is embodied in a right that no policy has so far been able to guarantee, the right to self-defense.
This is what Caccia Ambiente represents, neither more nor less the legitimate defense of those categories of the hunting and rural world that in the aims of others are only a pool of votes to be forgotten immediately after the elections. Then I remind you that what you call passion for so many others is called work and I would like to see if it is more than desirable to take the field of a party for those who want to defend their loaf. The voters will decide on the need for Caccia Ambiente. However, we are not deluded by an easy success but waiting for the solution to every problem to arrive from this Parliament seems more and more a utopia and events unfortunately prove us right.
We hope to be proven wrong but in the meantime we emphasize the relevance of our motto:
"Only we can help us"
Kind regards and good work.
