Summer in chiaroscuro
The summer for Leo Messi had started in the best way. In July, in fact, his Argentina won the Copa America, yet another trophy that will enrich the already rich trophy cabinet of the South American champion. Now, however, the good season is bringing some very bad news to the former Barcelona and Paris Saint Germain footballer.
Who broke into the property
Some environmentalists they broke into his villa in Ibiza, to be precise in the Cala Tarida area. It is a residence paid for 11 million euros and characterized by 16 thousand square meters of land. The activists, who are part of the "Futuro Vegetal" association, took advantage of Messi's absence to deface the external walls.
The message of the activists
The reason is easy to say and can be read in the organization's statement: “The villa is an illegal construction that Messi purchased for 11 million euros. While this is happening, in the Balearic Islands alone between 2 and 4 people have died due to the heat wave. The richest 1% of the population is responsible for as much carbon emissions as the poorest two-thirds."
