While the decree is in the pipeline "Urgent measures on wildlife" which provides for the possibility entrusted to the regions to hunt wild boars "from September 15 to February 15", effectively extending the regional hunting calendar. At the same time, a more effective control of the species is expected, with culling also within urban areas. The proposed modification would modify article 18, paragraph 1, letter d), of the law 11 February 1992, n. 157, the words "from 1 October to 31 December or from 1 November to 31 January" are replaced by the following: "from 15 September to 15 February".
Our body, on June 6 in the Campania Region, had already proposed an extension of the salable period for wild boar at 31st January, taking into account two important factors: first, the postponement of the summer season also in October, excessive heat and poor conservation of game meat after killing, moreover, excessive heat compromises the work of the following dogs. According to, in October the woods are still closed and full of leaves, (significant reduction of the results from the point of view of hunting) many works are postponed to October in the vineyards and olive groves, (danger to public and private safety) it would be advisable to opt for a period available from November 1st to January 31st, instead of from 1 October to 31 December, today with this new decree, the possibility of being able to reach 15 February.
In the next hunting calendar of the Campania region, we are satisfied with the regulation that will provide for dog training in agri-tourism hunting farms and in the ZAC, with and without shooting on farmed game, allowed all year round with the exception of Tuesdays and Fridays, days of hunting silence pursuant to DPGR n.627 of 22 September 2003…. Only one point remains to be clarified: but what happened to the hunting calendar for the 2022-2023 season!
Last year was July 7, 2021 when the regional council approved the hunting calendar this year we are still waiting, that the planning and regulation tool is brought in! Strategy? we do not know yet!!! We sincerely hope to have the answers soon, that thousands of citizens of Campania hunters Campania Region have been asking themselves since June 15th… if you are there… knock a beat! (EPS).
