Very little is missing from the first two days of testing of the initial stage of the Romano Saladini Pilastri 2016 trophy, a dog event that will initially take place in Abruzzo and which lasts one year. The edition of the year that has just begun, in fact, will begin on 9 and 10 January next in Frattura di Scanno (L'Aquila). English breeds they will be the protagonists of the tests on typical mountain game, a circuit organized by the Gruppo Cinofilo Sagittario Sangro and by the Nuovo Gruppo Cinofilo Marsicano.
THEENCI (National Body of Italian Dog lovers) has long ago published the complete regulation of the event on its website. In particular, last year it was decided to go back to the old trophy rules, faithfully following those foreseen for the Paolo Ciceri Trophy, therefore with identical scoring criteria.
In order to access the final classification, it is necessary to participate in at least 8 tests of the circuit: in the event that there should be an equal score, priority will be given to the highest qualification and, in the hypothesis of a further equality, the prize will go to the youngest dog. . Then there is another prize that will be awarded to the female subject with the highest score: in the event of a tie, the same rules described above will be referred to.
The historical and traditional prize of Saladini Pilastri is a rock partridge sculpture. We must also not forget the "Breeding Trophy", a special prize that will be awarded to the owner of a kennel that will be able to obtain the best results with at least two of his dogs in the circuit tests. How are points awarded to dogs? The best judgment is Excellent CACIT (12 points), then it goes down to Excellent CACIT reserve (11), Excellent CAC (10), Excellent CAC reserve (9), Excellent 1st (8), Excellent 2nd (7), Excellent 3rd (6), Excellent (5), CQN (4), Very Good (3) and Good (1).
The subsequent appointments of the trophy are scheduled for 27 and 28 February 2016 and 12 and 13 March 2016, again in Frattura di Scanno. The subsequent stages will be made public by ENCI. The first edition of the trophy dates back to 1986: it was named after Count Romano Saladini Pilastri, a great lover of hunting and dog lovers, pointer breeder, mountaineer and mountain hunter. The passion was transmitted to him by his father who participated in the first Sino-competitive events organized in central Italy. The last edition, that of 2015 (the thirtieth to be precise) saw the triumph of the English setter Mars Od Sljuka Travel led by Umberto D'Alessandris, whose kennel is located in Morolo, in the province of Frosinone.
