Brixia Expo and the Brescia Chamber of Commerce recently signed a memorandum of understanding with HuntEx, the largest event in the arms sector in South Africa with the aim of opening the channels to develop commercial relations between the Italian and South African arms districts in relation to sporting and hunting weapons. The protocol envisages, among other things, a visit to Brescia in February 2013 by a delegation of South African buyers to meet companies in the Italian arms sector. Italy is the leading European producer of sporting and hunting weapons and covers 60% of the EU total and 80% of this production is made by over 120 companies in Brescia. The international EXA fair, now in its 32nd edition, will take place from 13 to 16 April 2013 at the Brixia Expo exhibition center, Fiera di Brescia. The great tradition of the gun industry and the high quality of Made in Italy products find space here, also known for having contributed to the success of many athletes in the major shooting competitions worldwide.
Just think of the recent London Olympics, where all 15 medals up for grabs in the 5 skeet shooting specialties were won by taking up Italian weapons and using in most cases also tricolor ammunition. EXA will be present with a promotional space at HuntEx 2013 and 2014 while HuntEx will be present at EXA in 2014 to present the main hunting destinations in South Africa.
