During yesterday morning, Wednesday 18 January 2017, there was an explosion in the Fiocchi Munizioni factory di Lecco. It was a small explosion that caused the wounding of a 48-year-old worker, who was engaged in the department where they are produced primers for hunting and shooting cartridges. The 118 staff then arrived in Via Santa Barbara and transported the man in the yellow code to the hospital.
The causes of the outbreak are still unclear e the Carabinieri are trying to reconstruct the dynamics with greater precision: the damage to plants and structures was however limited, as announced by the Fiocchi management. The 48-year-old would have a few burns to his hand and face, as well as a trauma to an arm.
The first rumors speak of a small explosion in an isolated room, with the Fire Brigade who managed to put out the flames after few minutes. The plant was obviously evacuated, also because the smoke it risked invading other environments. The first aid was managed by the colleagues of the injured worker.
