ExpoRiva Caccia Pesca Ambiente, great success for the inauguration day; the first day closed with 10,7% more visitors than the previous edition.
The inauguration of the 8th edition of ExpoRiva Caccia, Pesca e Ambiente welcomed the guests, as per hunting tradition, with the majestic sound of hunting horns. Two hours after the opening, there were more than 1.500 visitors and the unexpected and welcome visit of a group of hunters from Italian Switzerland who organized the trip thanks to word of mouth from Italy. The President of Riva del Garda Fairs-congresses, Roberto Pellegrini, opens the speeches by stating how, in these eight editions, ExpoRiva Caccia Pesca Ambiente has consolidated its role as an event that has achieved a double objective.
On the one hand, the fair represents an important business opportunity. The presence of 186 companies, 13 of which from the main neighboring countries, testifies that the fair has been able to fully grasp the Central European aspect that had been posed since the first edition. On the other hand, having managed, at least in part, to ensure that hunting and fishing are seen from a perspective free from prejudice, in a more modern and enlightened way thanks also to the presence of a Scientific Committee. Carla Costa, Manager of the fair area of Riva del Garda Fiere-congressi, offers a photograph of the commercial offer that the public can find inside the halls. The companies present for the fishing world are 75, those of hunting with historical and prestigious brands are 99.
Numerous interactive initiatives with free artificial fly tying workshops, launch tanks to test the equipment on sale and launch mini-courses. For hunting enthusiasts, it is possible to test yourself for free in shooting, attend the hunting technique appointments conducted by the well-known journalist-hunter Bruno Modugno and see craftsmen and engravers working live. The numerous initiatives designed for children and a folkloristic beer garden complete the offer of this fair dedicated to lovers of the sector and families.
General Manager Giovanni Laezza takes up the theme of the Scientific Committee, as an indispensable tool to guarantee, also from a commercial point of view, a high profile at the event which also consists in giving up, at times, easy earnings in order to continue to offer high-level hunting and fishing to enthusiasts. He then underlines how, alongside the rich commercial offer, there are numerous collateral initiatives, such as the "Giacomo Rosini" literary prize organized by Ars Venadi. Another important initiative, which sees the Company among the founding members, and the only fair in Italy, is the Literary Prize named after Mario Rigoni Stern.
An award dedicated to a great mountain man who has made a very high contribution to Italian literature, not just hunting. (The two sections of the Prize, one for fiction and the other for non-fiction, are held the first in equal years to one in Riva del Garda on the occasion of ExpoRiva Caccia Pesca Ambiente and the second in odd years in Asiago, its municipality of birth, Asiago). Laezza concludes the speech by underlining how, the continuous effort, to ensure that the event always maintains a high cultural profile, makes it possible to make it a suitable place also for families with children.
The speech by the deputy mayor of Riva del Garda, Alberto Bertolini, takes up the words of President Pellegrini, noting that, certainly the fair is based on a necessary commercial logic but, it is essential to underline how an event that talks about hunting and fishing has been created, highlighting the strong cultural aspect and the peculiarities of our territory.
He then goes back to analyzing the economic aspect in a broader way, referring to how much, within a tourist season, trade fairs play an important role for our city which, sees in the new fair district, a safe investment for the future. The inauguration is closed by the Councilor for Agriculture, Forests, Tourism and Promotion Tiziano Mellarini who recalls the perplexities of when, 8 years ago, we began to reason with the Company on the idea of creating an event dedicated to delicate topics such as hunting and fishing that could have possible repercussions on the outside.
However, the idea of the fair contained in itself some of the most characterizing aspects of our historical identity: the values of hunting, fishing and the environment. Mellarini emphasizes how, there can be no protection and safeguard of the environment, if not through the work carried out by those who experience the environment more closely, in particular as fishermen and hunters who take care of our territory before their own. passions.
